Our story starts with a visit to Cumbernauld by Linda O’Malley  the Area Co-ordinator for the West of Scotland for Erskine. A necessary word here. My generation was brought up with the title “Erskine Hospital” which itself was an update on the previous title. Nowadays the whole enterprise is simply called “Erskine”,  but rather than  being located in the west it has taken upon itself to operate in the east and the north until it has become a particularly Scottish Organisation.
Linda’s visit was a huge success most especially amongst those members of Branch 1355 who had not had a recent update. An invitation was accepted to go and visit Erskine and see what was being done and get a chance to talk to the Residents as well as the staff looking after their multifarious needs. Here we are, with Linda, outside the main entrance the only missing member being Sam who stands in as one of our two photographers.
