The web-site in it’s original
format was designed with a particular client population in mind. Much of that
has been retained in the rebuild but mention must be made of the “SLIPSTREAM
CLUB”. This Fife based branch of the R.A.F.A. first reaction was a warm
welcome to our launch on the WWW and an offer of access to whatever they
had which might be of use..
This friendly gesture made a great
impression; thanks !

visit. They have rebuilt their site to very high standards with a range of up to
the minute techniques which reflect their expert knowledge of ‘Java’ whereas our
webmaster still remains addicted to Nescafe!

Within the Branch there has been a
warm level of support and advice [some of it humorous, but much appreciated ]
and there are those who have; to their surprise, put pen to paper as well
as those who appeared with a complete page on disc.
It is a matter of historical fact
that the New Town of Cumbernauld was built on a diameter with the villages of
Cumbernauld and Condorrat at either end. The town has a main library in the Town
Centre and a number of ‘local’ libraries around the periphery including the
Condorrat Library - photo above.
It is also a fact that the Webmaster
had a growing collection of family pictures and data all becoming less
accessible. Already impressed with the unfailing courtesy and help of the
Condorrat Staff the decision was taken to assemble the varied collection
in the form of a disc based “web-site”. Circumstances changed; again,
and the decision was taken to build a web-site for Branch 1355 of the Royal
Air Forces Association for public use in ‘cyberspace’.
Once again the Library became the
basic resource for this venture and you; the user, will judge the success of
this venture. We can do no more than express our gratitude for all the help and
courtesy shown to us,by the Library Staff, over the years.

significantly less cost.
This web-site was produced on
Draw Plus 7, Photo Plus 8 and Page Plus 8 and then Page Plus 9. This latter
represented a significant advance on previous versions and it’s ability to
handle layers and basic drawing tasks never ceased to astonish.
A total rebuild of the site in the
early months of 2005 was completed to every ones’ satisfaction.
Mention must be made of the SERIF
web-site where the inexperienced can contact other enthusiasts in the
Forums. The response to published problems is unbelievably swift and
friendly.
